Yukon Fishing

Inconnu Lodge offers very unique access to the Yukon’s most remote and productive fisheries. We operate on over 20 lakes between two major Yukon watersheds, typically fishing half of them on a seasonal basis to limit fishing pressure. Summer fishing in the Yukon is an incredible experience! Our season starts 1 – 3 weeks after ice thaws off the lakes, fishing then starting around the middle of June. Our first 3 – 4 weeks of the summer provides excellent opportunities for fly-fishing and conventional fishing in shallow water. As summer moves along and the water warms up usually around mid to late July the fish will seek out deeper cooler waters, Lake Trout in particular. Our focus then shifts to fishing conventional tackle deeper in the water column for the big Lakers. Pike at this time also move out of the shallows at a lesser extent then the trout and can still be targeted by casting flies or conventional tackle. Toward the end of our season the lakes begin to cool and shallow water opportunities for Lake Trout again become available as they prepare to spawn.
We supply our guides with a vast array of tackle and equipment, it is not necessary to bring your tackle. The guides will be equipped with fly rods and reels, conventional rods and reels, sonar and all the time honored and proven tackle specific to the Yukon. You are more than welcome to bring rods and tackle, but if you choose not to the inconnu staff have you covered. We use braided line to an in-line weight for trolling. Keep this in mind if you bring your trolling rods as they will be limited on depth if spooled with monofilament line.

Catch and Release

Inconnu lodge is devoted to protecting and conserving all waters we fish. We operate on a catch and release basis, only retaining fish for our weekly shore lunch. Upon catching a trophy fish, your guide will weigh or take length and girth measurements, along with quality pictures, before releasing. Inconnu Lodge is proudly partnered with Advanced Taxidermy who will be able to replicate your trophy almost exactly.
