Canada's Yukon Territory  is one of the last truly pristine areas left on earth. While at Inconnu Lodge, it is conceivable that while fishing you and your group could be the only people for hundreds of square miles! While hiking you could be standing where no person has ever stood before! There are no traffic jams, no honking horns, not even any roads. Have you ever felt "one with nature"? Well, at Inconnu Lodge, breathing the purest air in the world, you will.

Inconnu Lodge's Lakes and Rivers

The Yukon Territory is home to the world's purest and clearest lakes, streams and rivers. Inconnu Lodge lies in the heart of these beautiful bodies of water that are perfect for fishing, canoeing, kayaking or simply gazing at in serene contemplation and wonder.

Inconnu Lodge is located on McEvoy Lake, about seven miles long and a mile wide. Connected by a stream to the main lake at the south end is a smaller five mile lake. Both lakes offer superb fishing for Lake Trout and Arctic Grayling. On the north end of McEvoy Lake is a half-mile long river emptying into two smaller lakes. All these rivers and lakes are easily accessible from the Lodge - you are literally just seconds away from quality fishing. One can boat, canoe or kayak from the Lodge down a series of small lakes and streams for up to twenty miles.

From our base on McEvoy Lake we fly out via float plane or helicopter to seventeen lakes and twelve excellent fly fishing rivers. A ten minute flight to the north takes you to an incredible chain of lakes that are joined by a system of three rivers, stretching for twenty five miles and offering a tremendous variety of angling. Lake Trout, Arctic Grayling, Northern Pike and Inconnu are plentiful in these waters. The nearby river system offers sixty miles of untouched easy flowing water perfect for fishing, canoeing or kayaking. All regular floatplane fly-outs are included in the lodge package.  Helicopter fishing days are an extra and the price depends on the distance traveled.

Check out a table of all the types of fish you can catch in the rivers and lakes around Inconnu Lodge, including the averages and the weight of each of the lodge record fish. Will you set a new record on your Inconnu Lodge adventure? There is only one way to find out!

Outpost Cabins

On the shores of two of our nearby lakes, Inconnu Lodge owns and maintains outpost cabins. These quaint, rustic getaways offer the Inconnu Lodge day adventurers a place to relax and enjoy a lunch during a day excursion to one of the lakes.

For the more adventurous, these cabins can also be used for overnight stays of up to six people. Each equipped with cooking and dining utensils, food, six bunks and a pot-bellied stove, the outpost cabins give you a chance to be even closer to the wild Yukon nature. Imagine falling asleep to the gentle cries of the loon or a distant howl of a Yukon wolf. Staying in an outpost cabin is an incredible experience.

The Cirque of the Unclimbables / Glacier Tour

The Cirque of the Unclimbables, located in the Northwest
Territories, is one of the most legendary  rock formations in all the world. Rock climbers from all over the globe travel to it to scale it's 2000 foot vertical cliffs.

Take a scenic helicopter flight over the glaciers of the Ragged Mountain Range   and spend the day hiking and exploring in the grandeur of these 2000 ft vertical cliffs.  Utilizing our helicopter we are able to land right in Ferry Meadows and embark for a day of adventure and sight seeing.  The Cirque of the Unclimbables side trip has been the highlight of many guests in the past and this is a part of the world that only a few people will ever get to see and those who do remember it for a lifetime.

It is amazing to think that the glaciers we fly over when going to the Cirque are 1000 feet in depth and a million years old.

Inquire for more information and pricing on this fully guided adventure.

Whitehorse and Dawson City

Nearby historic Yukon communities of Whitehorse and Dawson City give visitors a chance to re-live some of the rich history of the Yukon. By far the largest community in the Yukon, Whitehorse is a blend of modern and historic. On the banks of the Yukon River, you can spend your day enjoying a variety of attractions, sightsee, or just shop. Most Inconnu Lodge guests will fly through Whitehorse, staying at least one night in this Gold Rush town.

In Dawson City, home of the Klondike Gold Rush, tour the past and present gold fields and travel up to Discovery Claim on Bonanza Creek. Then enjoy an evening of entertainment at Diamond Tooth Gerties, the Yukon's only gambling hall, and a great 1898 show at the Palace Grande Theatre.

*Note: A trip to Dawson City would need to be done before or after your trip to Inconnu Lodge. We currently do not have any side trips to Dawson City from Inconnu Lodge.

Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights)

In the Yukon, the Northern Lights stretch all the way from the East to the Western horizon, and along the way demonstrate a strange and unimagined power. What are the Northern Lights? Scientifically, they are shimmering waves of light seventy miles above earth that are the after-effects of a giant explosion on the Sun. To the eye, it is a mystical dance of red, blue and green colors that fill the skies. Appearing very frequently in the skies above Inconnu Lodge, the best time to see the Northern Lights at the Lodge is late August and all September.
